Jake Sutton  has been invited to be painter of The Royal Opera House Collection. The Collection is a body of paintings and drawings of a wide repertoire of ballet and opera, painted in a variety of media to include oil on canvas, watercolour gouache and drawings in charcoal, sepia ink and pastel.

The paintings and drawings of the ballets and operas will form the basis of a publishing programme to be known as the Royal Opera House Collection.  Work from this collection will be published as signed limited edition giclee prints, greeting cards, mini-prints and diaries.  The first published work, of The Nutcracker ballet, will be available from the Royal Opera House Shop from July 2002.

The artist currently is working on his first operas and has selected Madame Butterfly and Carmen. Published work from these operas will be available from autumn 2002.

In addition, preparatory work is underway on a book about the artist which will include much of the work created for the Royal Opera House Collection.
